Abstract:我们人类如何知道自己身处何地?如何找到从A地到B地去的路线?又如何将这样的信息记下来以便于我们下次重走原路时能立马回想起路线的?方位感知和导航能力是我们存在的基础。方位感知让我们对环境中的位置有了概念。而在导航中,这种概念又与以运动和方位掌握为基础的距离感产生相互联系。机器人能像人类一样能灵活避障,行走自如吗?本次报告将探索如何在移动机器人平台上实现这些人类空间感知和导航能力。
Speaker’s bio:Yuan Miaolong received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China in 1997. He is currently working at A*STAR Institute for Infocomm Research as a scientist III. His research interests include computer graphics and computer vision, machine learning, augmented reality and cognitive robotics. He has published 50+ peer-reviewed scientific research papers. Recently, his group’s work on cognitive mapping and navigation on mobile robot platform has been widely reported by MIT Technology Review and ScienceDaily etc.
